Weekly Photo Challenge: Tiny (2)

Every summer Brookside Garden in Silver Spring, Maryland, hosts the “Wings of Fancy” butterfly exhibition.  Part of the greenhouse morphs into a butterfly house with oodles of different butterflies from all over the Americas, and some from Europe, too, I believe (but don’t quote me!)  At any rate, this little fellow was one of the smaller ones.  I shot this in the summer of 2010. He is charming, don’t you think? And he is tiny!

    1. Yes, I just recently changed themes. I liked the other one but it was too busy. Photos didn’t display well, and the print was difficult to read. This one is cleaner, leaner, nicer. BTW, glad you like the photo! 🙂

    1. Thank you! A lot of people like this one, as do I. I’ll keep this one for a while — clean, sleek, simple, easy to read, etc.
thanks for stopping by! Have a great day.

  1. Wonderful photo! The shallow depth of field really makes him stand out!
We have a ‘butterfly house’ garden very nearby, and I’ve been wanting to go for a while now. Unfortunately they are closed on Monday’s (our day off). Oh well, what can you do? 🙂

  2. A gorgeous little creature! What a perfect design …and so delicate!
There is some butterfly house in the next town from here, I’ve heard, but never been there.

    1. thanks Rebekah. I love butterflies and will miss not being close to this summer’s Wings of Fancy in Maryland. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! 🙂

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Doris. We no longer live in the area where this photo was shot. I am going to miss it. It is an annual display. Glad you like it.
