Got to spend a week there in 1995 just walking the city. Having never been there it was a dream world for this American history teacher. Other than the govt stuff DC did not seem to be much of a city. Liked aero/space the most.
Yes, I love the city, but then I love history, too. And you are correct, DC was created to be the seat of the nation’s government~nothing else. But I love it here and will miss it.
