Five Question Friday: July 15, 2011. . . I think

OK, so here goes:

1. If you knew your best friend’s spouse was cheating on her or him, would you tell her (him)?
Well, the short answer is YES! ABSOLUTELY! WITHOUT A DOUBT!  However, once I get through my initial knee-jerk reaction, and hopefully have not said anything. . .yet, I would have to consider what is best for my friend, and what are my motives for wanting to run over to her house and spill the beans.  Am I running over to share juicy gossip that just happens to involve (intimately) my friend (not a good idea, friend gets hurt so that I get jollies for gossiping).  How do I share such news in a way that is sensitive and caring of her feelings?  Am I willing to stand with her through the yuck and muck and shock this kind of info will inevitably incur?  Will I keep my mouth shut when others want to join in the “gossip circus,” or will I join in the fracas?  The answer to this question requires a lot of thought, a lot of prayer, a lot of ongoing support for my friend.  (Who thinks up these questions anyway????)  I certainly want to do what’s best for my friend; I just have to carefully consider what that might be, including my ulterior motives for speaking up.  (Am I making this too complicated?  Can’t help it; It’s a Jewish thing, really.)

2. Soda in a can or a bottle?
Well, I don’t drink soda.  Water is my main beverage of choice so that means bottle.  I will occasionally have a beer, but I’m really more of a wine drinker (bottle with a cork 🙂 ).  This was an easy question after number one!  Thank you.

3. What do you wash first, hair or body?
Well. . . I never really gave it much thought.  Does it really matter as long as one is clean when they step out of the shower (or tub)?  I usually start at the top and work down, unless I start in the middle and work out.  Hmmm.  Sometimes I use conditioner on my hair so on those days hair has to be washed first in order to give the conditioner time to sit there and do its thing.  (Why are you making me think so early in the morning?  Whatever happened to the “quippy” questions that only required a “quippy” answer?)

4. What advice would you give to any new mama?
Ah, another easy one: Sleep Sleep Sleep when you can.  Sleep as much as possible before the little dear arrives.  Sleep when the child sleeps.  Sleep when the sig other/husband/older child/friend/mother/mother-in-law/whomever is around to watch said child.  Just sleep!  New mothers will know what I’m talking about.  It will be decades before you will get good sleep again, if then!  Second advice?  Have fun.  The house will be messy.  Clothes will be wrinkled.  Meals will be simple.  It is all ok as long as you don’t forget to have fun.  Children grow up too fast so have fun with them while you can. 🙂

5. What is your best hangover remedy?
I think I’ve only had 2 or 3 hangovers in my entire life (and I’m gettin up in years!) so I’m not a good one to answer this question.  Sleep it off?  Drink lots of water?  Stay in dark, quiet rooms untill it is all over?  Those are my best guesses.

So, there you have it.  Enjoy.  Leave your thoughts.  Post your answers. 🙂 See ya next Friday!
