This was a serendipitous moment. We were stopped at a traffic signal waiting to turn left. I looked to my right and saw the sun low in the sky and thought I’d grab a shot or two. The first two shots were complete failures. The third shot caught a telephone pole as Richard was pulling through the light. I snapped a fourth shot, sure that it was nothing but a blur as we pulled into the intersection and then on toward our destination. The sun was no longer in sight. When I got home and downloaded the four images, this, the fourth, was the only image I kept. 🙂 I love it when that happens!

so pretty with the tracery of the trees, amazing that you caught it in a moving car!
Thank you. I know ~ This is the one I was sure would be nothing but a blur! Instead it was the best of the bunch.
Woo Hoo, beautiful!!

It’s a miracle! And it’s gorgeous! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried to take photos as we are turning and they DON’T turn out! Good for you!

Thank you, Judy. Yes, this is one in a million. But it’s the one that turns out, out of the million, that keeps me shooting even when I think nothing good will come of it! Kind of a metaphor for life, huh. Thanks for stopping by. Much appreciated. 🙂
Cecelia –
Isn’t that how it goes. The post, the picture, the words of comfort that we think miss the mark are often the ones that resonate! 😀
Lovely photo!
Debbie

The light master is Rembrandt
Ah…I love Rembrandt! and yes, he was a master of light, and color and more!
Sunny Deelight!
Thanks for stopping by SDUtO! Glad you like the photo.
Very impressive. I love it when a surprise happens, just like this. And I love the way that the branches are weaving a pattern in front of the sun.

Thanks Kate. It seems that my best photos usually are surprises. Glad you like this one.
Amazing photograph! I can never seem to get the exposure right! This is amazing!
This was a gift. I could not have captured this if I tried. In fact, I almost didn’t try. But it doesn’t hurt to “point and shoot” at times. The Universe can be kind. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by. Glad you like the photo. (I feel guilty taking credit for it actually. It was truly an ‘accident’.)
Stunning, Ms. F!
Whoever said the third time is the charm obviously didn’t know what they were talking about! Wow!
🙂
What can I say. All I did was point and shoot . . . from a moving car turning left as I shot this to our right. Who’d of thunk. This was nothing short of a gift from the Universe. Glad you like it. 🙂
lovely end of the day, and so well captured.
Thank you, suitablefish. Thanks for stopping by.
a world bathed in beauty.
Thank you, Joss. I am glad you like the photo. 🙂
Beautiful shot and lighting! Looks like you’ve caught (hopefully) some of the last naked trees before they start budding away! Your orchid photos have gotten me all excited for spring to be sprung!
Thank you, Cynosurd! Yes, spring is springing out all over, and those trees will be in full “dress” soon. Glad you like the photos. 🙂
I always like sunset and sunrise photos–they’re almost always good as long as they catch the scene.
I had to come to your site to see how well it loaded after seeing your comment on NRHatch’s blog. The front part of your blog loads quickly but something in the background takes a long time. Have you tried getting rid of that wallpaper or whatever you call it? I can only see it on the side margins and it seems pretty pointless to have that if that’s what slows down the loading.
It didn’t slow me down getting to make this comment though. It was just loading in the background while I was leaving my comment.

Tossing It Out
Thankyou Arlee Bird. You and several others have alluded to the wallpaper so I’m taking it out. If that is the problem, it is easily fixed. Also, thanks for stopping by. Much appreciated. 🙂
stunning.
Thank you suitablefish. 🙂
Beautiful! Great composition for a “grabber shot”. The branches look almost like lace!
This one was a gift, for sure! Glad you like it. 🙂
That is such a lovely sunset. 😉
Thank you. 🙂
Wow. You surely have improved your site since my last visit!
I love this shot of the sun. Totally wonderful you could capture it in spite of circumstances!
It reminds me of a saying we have on a screen saver:
Have thy tools ready; God will find thee work.
😉
Ooooo…. I like that saying! Thanks for stopping by. I’m glad you like the changes I’ve made to my site. Simple is better!!! Have a great day. 🙂
