Weekly Photo Challenge: Self-Portrait

You’ve seen this one before, but it’s one of my favorites so I’ll post it again. This one was taken with my cat, Pele, a couple of months before she died. It is one of my favorite photos.

I’ve taken other self-portraits, too, but none that I like as much as the one with Pele. But here are a few.

I was unsure about including the last photo. I’m sure you can guess why. But I am in it. It is a self-portrait. And, what good is life without a sense of humor! Hahaha. 😀

Enjoy. This is a fun topic and I may try my hand at other self-portraits this week. If I do, you will know. 🙂

  1. The first one is poignant, the second one is beautiful and the last one is funny. All three are great self-portraits!

  2. You showed 3 parts of yourself today. The first photo, the loving and caring person you are. Compassionate. The 2nd, the talented, gifted, embracing life gal you are. 3rd, the fun, and with awesome sense of humor person who inspires the world!!!

  3. Love you photos and thanks for visiting my site! Your screen snow is the only snow we’ll see this year in RI!

    1. Thank you, JM, for visiting my sight! I’m looking out at snow right now. We have several inches on the ground. If I could send you some, I would, that is, if you wanted it! Have a great weekend.

    1. Thank you. I’m glad you like them. I happen to love B&W myself. I used to shoot only B&W, but that was back in the days of film. Haven’t quite mastered it yet with thie DSLR. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

  4. I’ve come here via Kathy McCullough, and just wanted to say I LOVE your photos. (All of them. OK, especially the humor in the last one. Too funny!)

    1. Thank you so much for stopping by! I certainly appreciate it, and I’m glad you like the photos. The last one was taken back in the spring when we were living in Fairfax, VA, close enough to hop the metro into the district (Washington, DC) and the National Zoo. I did not know about the reflections until processing. I love the photo, too. Hope to see more of you. Have a great week.;-)

    1. Thank you, Gracie. The first photo is my all time favorite self-portrait. The last one is among the top, but for me, the one with Pele is a special keepsake. I’m glad you recognize that. Thanks for stoppingy by, and I hope you’ll come again.

  5. I love all three portraits and the last one specially! Kudos 🙂 Thank you for sharing your photos with us.

    1. Pierre, thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you’ll come back. I’m glad you like the photos, especially the last one (taken at the National Zoo in Washington, DC, back in the spring.)

    1. Oh thank you, sweetdays. I miss Pele. The photo is probably my favorite self-portrait of all time. I’m glad you see it, feel it, and think of your Z Cat. Thanks for stopping by.

  6. Cool set of collection you have there Cecelia. I like them all. The third one looks very cool to me, having to capture your family on the reflection of the mirror. Merry Christmas to you and your family! Cheers! 🙂

  7. Any one of these wonderful portraits would have more than stood on their own but I love the way you have progressed them through together and the story of you they tell.

    1. Thanks P&K! These three are probably my favorite self-portraits. The first one for sentimental reasons; the second one because I’m writing; the last one because it is by far the most humorous and complex. Glad you like them! 🙂
