I like to be creative when I participate in the photo challenges, however sometimes it is best to just be straightforward. I had a wonderful visit with my family over the Thanksgiving holidays. Unfortunately, with all of the pictures we shot, not one included the whole family. NOT ONE! What were we thinking? We were so busy talking, hugging, laughing and simply enjoying being in each other’s presence that we failed to shoot more formal shots that included everyone. I did however, get one shot of the three kids and myself which I will post here. Of course, the kids are all adults now, but still “kids” to me. Others assure me that they will forward photos my way, so if I have an inkling, I may add photos to this post at a later date . . . maybe. But here is a photo of my three children and myself. There were many many more family members around, but this represents my most immediate family. (We didn’t even get a photo of Richard and me!!! What were we thinking!?! Missed the photo of each of the children’s families as well. Oy vey . . . )

So many times we have failed to take a family photo when we are together…I need to write it on my hand next time we have a family gathering, that way I won’t forget or at least someone will ask me whats on my hand which will be my reminder.
I’m glad I’m not the only one. You would think that as much as I photograph, I would be the one to remember to take pictures. NOT! But my twin brother is quite an accomplished photographer, and he is out with his camera A LOT! But I didn’t see him shooting away either. Go figure. Thanks for stopping by. Hope your holidays were nice.
Million dollar smiles all. They must have something or know something very special.
Thanks Carl. I appreciate you stopping by. Hope your holidays were good ones.
Wonderful! So glad you had time together. 😀
It was wonderful. I never get enough of them! Hoping your holidays were great, too. Thanks for stopping by.
nice lookin’ crew you got there!!
🙂 Yes, I agree, they are a nice lookin’ crew! Thanks for stopping by.
Wow, Cecelia – what a good looking, vibrant foursome you are!
Thanks Barbara. It was a glorious few days that ended all too soon, but now that we are living in the midwest, I get to see them a lot more often. Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks for the pingback Cecilia, hope you had a great thanksgiving 🙂
Yes, CG, we had a wonderful thanksgiving. And likewise, you have a wonderful week. 🙂
How lovely to see you and your fledglings. We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK and. I am going to ensure I remember to take family photos at Christmas.
Yes, remember to take pictures! Every gathering anymore, is worth documenting and remembering.
and what a lovely family they are…..xxxxx
Thanks Patrecia. We had a wonderful time together.
What a great-looking group! We managed one near-group-shot here (minus the baby who happened to be napping).
Kathy
Thanks, Kathy. We had a wonderful time albeit too short. Hope your thanksgiving was blessed in all good ways.
Cecelia
You look so happy. Your children all have the same beaming smile and sparkling eyes. What a great family photo.
Thank you Theresa. I feel so blessed. I am happy to share our joy with the world! 🙂
thanks for the pingback! I appreciate your thoughtfulness! 🙂
Good photos. Always grab those photo ops when you get the chance.
Thank you. What is so aggravating is that I’m the one who always has a camera in hand! How could I have been so remiss to miss so many opportunities. 😦 Well, here is to many more photo ops to redeem myself 😉 Thanks for stopping by.
Hi! I loved the “family” picture. It is so hard not to take this challenge literally, especially when you have a family that you are so proud of.
Cheers,
Louise
You are so right! Thanks for stopping by. Hope your days have been happy ones. 🙂
Lovely photo. We missed getting a family picture as well. It wasn’t until my oldest son left that we didn’t get a photo. My daughters wanted to take one for a Christmas photo. We will ahve to be more deliberate about it now if we want it to be ready for Christmas. I am rarely in photos because I am usually behind the camera.
oops-realized we didn’t get a photo.
Don’t you hate it when that happens! Well, may there be many more gatherings and photo ops ahead. 🙂 AND, may we all remember to grab the shot when we can. 🙂 Enjoy the week and the memories.
thank you for sharing this wonderful family moment.
i know about photos that didn’t get taken. about a year ago there was a big birthday celebration for my mom’s 85th – and you would think that with so many family members present it would have been the perfect photo op. i was mc-ing and you would think that i might have thought of it. but did i? and so, there was not one formal group shot captured 😦
some memories are simply that, and not Kodak moments – but equally as wonderful on reminiscing at the next family gathering. at least, that’s how i try to console myself about it 🙂
Oh, don’t you hate it whent that happens! But like you said, some memories are simply not Kodak moments. Well, we live and learn, and may our next family gatherings be just as special and memorable, and may SOMEONE REMEMBER THE PHOTOTGRAPHS! 😀
You have a lovely and happy family Cecelia,
May the happiness always be with your family 🙂
Thank you Jake. I appreciate your kind words. May you, too, be happy now and in the future. 🙂
What a wonderful photo, Ms. F!
It looks like you have some wonderful kids – you must be very proud!
🙂
Thanks SIG. I am very proud of all three! It’s been years since we have all been together in one place, so this Thanksgiving was special. I just regret that I didn’t get a shot of EVERYONE, spouses, grandchildren, the works! Oh well, we’ll just have to get together again to remedy the situation. 😉
Thank you for the ping back! I know this and I have done the same think and thought to WHAT WAS I THINKING.. great you all got together and it was wonderful.
Yes, it was a wonderful holiday for us all. And I am hearing from quite a few folks that I am not the only one who forgets the camera . . . or rather, to take the shots! Thanks for stopping by. Have a glorious day.
This is a beautiful shot Cecelia. You all love happy. 🙂
Thanks Elizabeth. It was good to have everyone in one place. It’s been years since that happened. 🙂
That’s such a nice picture!
Thanks Doris. It was the first time in years that we had all been together in one place. I hope all is well with you. Have a great week.
