I am in Chicago for a few days visiting my daughters and their families. I arrived in the windy city around sunrise Sunday morning. My daughter’s partner picked me up at Union Station (you really ought to travel by MegaBus at least once! Great fun!) but instead of going straight back to their apartment, we did a little sight-seeing first. Chicago on a Sunday morning at sunrise, empty streets, wonderful colors, fantastic architecture . . . and Marilyn . . . is awesome! I was not thinking about this challenge when I was shooting, but early this morning as I was going through the photos, I thought this would fit the bill. Enjoy! (and I’ll throw in a few of Marilyn as a bonus! :-))

Thanks Patrecia. I appreciate you stopping by, as always.
Great photos, loved the sunset 🙂
Thanks Denise. Actually, that is the sunrise! It was incredible driving through the Windy City at sunrise on a Sunday morning. LOVED it! Thank you for stopping by.
I am LOVING these photos. Sounds like a fun time in Chicago!
Thanks Kathryn. I am having a great time. I’m only here for a few days, but what fun we are having!!! Thanks for stopping by.
Awesome photos, Ms. F!
And a very appropriate sculpture for the Windy City, I’d say!
SIG! It’s good to see you back. Hope your move went smoothly. Glad you like the photos, and Marilyn is such an iconic figure, how could I bypass her???? It is great to be here for a few days. 🙂
Cecelia how nice to be in Chicago visiting your daughters! We honeymooned there 37 years ago in January. What were we thinking? Your photos are awesome for the photo challenge. Lots of windows and who wouldn’t enjoy your shot of Marilyn? Last picture is lovely. Have a great visit and a safe trip home!
Thanks for stopping by SDUTO. This is a long overdue visit and the quick tour of the city was the icing on the cake. The rest of my stay will be in the ‘burbs, but I’m having a wonderful time with the kids.
Wow! Makes me remember our art and architecture (Elderhostel) trip to Chicago, how fabulous the trip was, how fabulous Chicago is!
I agree T2T! The architecture here is incredible…..and beautiful.
I went to Chicago once and I thought it was amazing. Your beautiful photos gave me a glimpse once again of a city that held me breathless. Thank you…
I agree. Chicago is an awesome city. Sooooo much going on, and so much I could say. If I was going to be here longer, I’d have LOTS more photos of this magnificent city. Glad the photos brought back such fond memories.
great window photos, and Marilyn too.
Thanks Maggie. Have a wonderful day. 🙂
If you’re in downtown Chicago, stop in the public library and take the elevator to the top floor! You can look up and see the sky and all the skyscrapers! It’s lovely — I hope you can visit – you will love it!!!!
Oooooo — That sounds fantastic. Won’t be able to do that this trip but I will be back regularly now that we live closer. I will definitely be checking out the library next trip! Thanks for the tip.
Chicago is a great city. I almost moved there a life time ago. I love your shots as usual. What kind of camera do you use? I am thinking of upgrading mine.
I have a Pentax K-7 with a Tamron Lens. But I’ve also gotten some awesome shots from my Olympus point-and-shoot. Most people I know use a Canon or a Nikon. I have been a Pentax fan ever since my Pentax Spotmatic 35 years ago. Good luck on the upgrade.
Great shots! Enoy your visit. 😀
Thanks Nancy. So far it’s been fantastic!
I’m biased if I say I like the last photo most. You must have know the reason when you saw my entries … 🙂
Yes, the colors of a sunrise . . . or a sunset . . . are magnificent! I am so glad I was able to catch this one. AND the view from your window is stunning, too.
Beautiful photos! Enjoy your trip and have a little fun!
Thanks Theresa. I am having a ball! Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate it.
Well done on the challenge …
Thank you, Isadora. I appreciate you stopping by.

These are terrific pictures… Glad you contributed them to the challenge… Also, I love Chicago. 😉
Thanks Elizabeth. I have had a wonderful time here, but I head home in a few hours. Chicago is a wonderful city and I have already made plans to return in early spring! Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
enjoy your trip!
thanks Doris. I had a great time. Got back last night but I’m ready to go again! It is always wonderful to spend time with my kids.
Hope you had a great time. Great pictures. I’m surprised Marilyn would try wearing that dress in such cool weather.
Yes, I had a wonderful time. Can’t wait until my next trip! and that thing with Marilyn, the woman needs some clothes!!!! LOL. 🙂
u “caught it”
Thank you, Sana. Glad you like it!
of course Marilyn got some trouble in the windy city …
Of course she did . . . She’s Maryilyn!
Thanks for stopping by.
Lovely shots! I thought for a moment, when reading you intro, that Marilyn was your daughter when of course your fabulous shots told me otherwise! Am sure you enjoyed your stay!
I had a glorious time with my daughters, and with Marilyn ;-D. I am glad you enjoyed the photos, too.
Beautiful pictures! Thanks for sharing with the rest of us. I’ve never been in the city – just around the city, passing on the interstate. I love the shots. 🙂
Glad you like them, MJ. That was the first time I have ever been in the city on a Sunday morning at sunrise. Awesome! Hope you get to visit sometime.
Beautiful shots! Since moving to a small town nine years ago my fascination with skyscrapers had been steadily increasing… I’ve gotta get to the city more!
Thanks. It was a great time of day to arrive in Chicago: sunrise. The colors were gorgeous, and no traffic on a Sunday morning so there was no-one hassleing me to move on.
some more windows:
Awesome. Also overwhelming. I can’t imagine living like that. Daunting is another word that comes to mind. Give me the house on the Dina River. Thas is more my style. Thanks for stopping by and for leaving a comment. Have a glorious day.
