The Liebster Blog Award! Woohoo!

It is Saturday night, and as is my custom, the first thing I do after our Sabbath comes to a close is to check my email and blog to see what has been happening during my day-long absence from the electronic world.  To my surprise, I discovered that I was given the Leibster Blog Award by my wonderful blogging friend, Marge Mercurio at Inside Out Cafe. Marge writes a beautiful blog in which she shares the beauty of her state and travels through photography, interesting experiences, personal insights, and general observations about life.  I always look forward to what Marge has to write about, and inevitably come away enriched for having stopped by her blog.  Be sure to visit and see for yourself what Marge is all about, and take time to leave a comment when you do.

Liebster means ‘beloved’ in German and it’s an honor to receive this award from Marge. The Liebster Blog Award is designed to bring additional recognition to those bloggers with less than 200 followers. If you receive the award, you should link back to the blogger that nominated you and nominate five more blogs. Also, don’t forget to let them know that you nominated them.

Many blogs are worthy of this honor, but the following are a few I think you will like.

Patrecia at I’ve been thinking about . . . : Patrecia is funny, at times irreverent, always entertaining and interesting.  She is relatively new to the WP blogging community, yet she is quickly developing a devoted following.  Check out her site.  I think you’ll like it.

Ramoncito17 at Holdeeeeat : Ramoncito is a travel photographer with an extraordinary talent!  Not only are his photographs beautiful to behold, but the script he writes to explain each photograph poetically tells the story of what he has depicted.  I always look forward to his posts.

SpilledInkGuy at Refrigerator Magnate is a true artist! His artwork is a little edgy, beautiful, provocative, and his comments are humorous, informative, yet always respectful.  I marvel at his artistic talent and his willingness to share it.  Beautiful!

Carl D’Agostino as I Know I Made You Smile, is a retired history teacher who always has something clever to post.  He does indeed make you smile, and oftentimes giggle, and occasionally an uncontrollable outright guffaw, too.  His posts are “what the doctor ordered” if you need a laugh a day.

And the last of the five is Kamakshi at Snapshots of the World .  Kamakshi posts a photo-a-day of some place or event in her native India.  Through Kamakshi I have learned so much about her culture, her country, her customs and more. She is a delight to get to know and I encourage you to follow her for a while.  You will learn a lot!

It was extremely difficult to decide who to award because there are so many excellent blogs that I follow.  Rebekah at Coldweather is a Swedish expat living in Canada.  She doesn’t accept awards (she says so on her site!) but if I could, I would indeed give her this award, too.  Then there is Nancy at Spirit Lights the Way, a lawyer who gave it all up and along with her husband, moved to Florida to live the life of their dreams, and through her blogs, daily sharing insights, humor and inspiration with us. I can’t forget Elizabeth at Mirth and Motivation, one of the first bloggers I began following and one of the most inspirational writers you’ll come across. Then there is  Donna at Redneck Princess, who of her own accord is “recklessly inappropriate, usually unfiltered, and [oftentimes] funny . . .”  The fact is I am following close to 200 blogs regularly.  Each has its niche and something special to offer.  I  wanted to mention everyone but that is impossible. Some don’t qualify for this particular award because they have been around for a while and have a huge following, but I have no way of knowing who does or does not qualify.  At any rate, I wish to honor all bloggers who have helped me learn and grow in this medium. Of the many of you I missed, please feel free to snag this award for yourself because you deserve to be recognized, too. Leave a comment along with your url so that others can check you out!

Thanks again, Marge, for blessing me with the Liebster Blog Award. You made my day.  🙂

    1. Glad to hear that you are tickled pink! You are such a refreshing, fun addition to the wordpress community. To add this to your page will take some copying and pasting. First highlight the image for the award and save it as a photo to your computer. Then, you when you write your blog, you will insert at the appropriate place the same as you would insert a photo. Copy any part of my blog that explains the award and paste to your blog if you so desire. Then think of five blogs that you follow or read (with less than 200 followers — this award is meant to encourage newer bloggers). Add a brief description along with their links, then when the post is finished let each of the five know that you have passed the award to them. It does involve a little work and a lot of thought, but it is encouraging to receive. Enjoy the recognition. You deserve it! 🙂

  1. Wonderful post, Cecelia ~ you’ve captured the essence of the blogs your described making me want to swing round and check them out! 😀

The daily sharing of insights, humor and inspiration are what make blogging so delightful.

    1. I agree. I love to visit your place, and others. My life is enriched and I’m a better person for getting to listen and know my blogging buddies. Thanks for your offering to this medium and to us, your readers! Blessings. 🙂

  2. ! Oh thank you ever so much! I love lobster. Baked simple butter and paprika, baked potato , slaw and garlic bread. Thank you ever so much for such a splendid dinner at the lobster place. I nominate: 1. “A Friend to Yourself.” Dr. SJQ offers kind and insightful discussions on mental health issues. 2.” sixthsymph.” Poet, she lives in Russia. 3.” Fix It Or Deal. ” Funny and pokes fun at all aspects or our lives. 4. “unicomics.” Great homemade style cartoons, life from a young woman’s perspective.
    5. ” Lessons from Teachers and Twits.” Renee is a college English prof ,insightful, funny and delightfully sarcastic at times. My skills are primitive so can’t make links( I am learning Renee-OK?) but but search blog name and you’ll get there. Or my blog roll. Cecelia, I will make this tomorrow’s post and get you on my blog roll when my friend comes over to give me more computer lessons. Regards, Carl D’Agostino.

  3. Congratulations, Cecelia. That is a very deserving reward indeed. Your blog is such a delight to read, and at the same time, your refreshing comments always adda little something to the posts you visit. That is something that many, including this blogging newbie, appreciate very much.

So congrats again. Three cheers! and continued Happy Blogging to you!

  4. Beautiful! TY for the kind mention and I have cherished your blog as much since we first connected on the WP platform… I hear you that it isn’t easy to tell who gets what but the kindness is always appreciated with these awards we all share… I will check out the bloggers you mentioned later and enjoy their work. 😉
Have a Happy Labor Day! 🙂

  5. Thank you so very, very much, Ms. F! I’ve been having a bit of a difficult time lately, so you really made my day with this! Or my week… or month… or (well, you can see where this is going). 🙂
While I sincerely appreciate your incredible kindness and generosity I decided a while back that I probably shouldn’t accept awards… I follow so many blogs… I just couldn’t choose between them (and would hate to hurt someone’s feelings). Not only that, but this would totally go to my head. My wife would probably tire of my humming myself a fanfare every time I entered or exited the room. Well… I might still do that anyway (I’ve got to live a LITTLE, right?)!
Thank you again, Ms. F… you are far too kind!
    🙂

    1. You are most welcome SIG! I can certainly understand not wanting to hurt anyone’s feelings. The hardest part is trying to figure out who to give the award to. You are probably smart by not going down that road 😉 I will add however, that you are deserving of the award, you are indeed a phenomenal artist and a little bit of a “big head” now and then is quite alright. . . as long as one doesn’t let it go to their head! Hahahaha . . . I’m terrible about laughing at my own jokes. Ask my husband! At any rate, thanks for stopping by and have a marvelous day!

      1. You really are far to kind, Ms. F… (and very funny, too… hahaha)
thank you again! My congratulations to you, as well! You do wonderful work on your blog and it clearly shows! I hope you have a wonderful day, too! Thank you so much! 🙂

  6. Cecilia,
The best part of giving this award is to see who else receives it down the line! What a bunch of fun bloggers and posts! Thanks so much for keeping this going with so much energy! — Marge

    1. Thank you for stopping by! I took a quick look at your blog and subscribed. I’ll go back and spend more time there. As a grad student in mental health counseling, I am particularly interested. Again, thanks for stopping by and I hope you’ll visit again. And yes, it is fun to know that we both keep same Sabbath. Blessings to you.

  7. Thank you ever so much, Cecelia!!! I feel deeply honoured. I put that up there because for some time there were oodles of awards going around. It has calmed down somewhat now.

    1. It can get out of hand at times. I allot about 2 hours early in the morning, then I have other things I have to do. When I am closing in on the final week of the quarter I just have to let them go. But, I’ve met so many interesting people and learned a lot by following blogs. Some get a cursory glance, others take more time. During those times when I am overwhelmed with it all, I just step back for a few days to give myself a break and clear my head. I imagine that when I begin work or get involved in my practicum or residency, my presence in the blogosphere will be scarce. That will not be anytime soon however. Thanks for stopping by.

    1. You are absolutely correct! I hope you got the chance to check out some of the other blogs I highlighted. I wish I could have listed all of them. Thanks for stopping by. It’s always appreciated. Have a great day.
