I’ve been posting a lot of photos of birds, chipmunks, flowers, and even a deer or two since we moved into our new home. I was asked today if I still saw or photographed squirrels. You may remember that when we lived in the apartment prior to buying our home, squirrels visited my window on a daily basis. Well, I still have squirrels just not as plentiful as before. But the ones that do come to our yard and deck are delightful to watch. So here are some recent photos of our new squirrel friends. Enjoy.

Looks like your squirrel guests have made themselves at home.
Yes, they have. They are fun to watch, and a few will even let me get close to them (but not too close!)
Whatever you do, don’t feed them.
They only seem cute.
They can be very destructive creatures, indoors (in your walls, in your attic, in your cellar) and out.
Welcome to the joys and trials of being a homeowner.
And appreciate your squirrel-proof bird feeder.
Years ago we lived in a house that had squirrels in the walls. NOT fun! Here the squirrels have not proven to be much of a problem. They come around maybe once a week, snack on the bird food, then I don’t see them for a while. Eventually I will get a ‘proper’ bird feeder with a ballast to keep squirrels, snakes, etc. out of their food!
Thanks for stopping by.
We haven’t seen too many squirrels this year. Your photos are great
Thanks for stopping by. Glad you like the photos.
they look so relaxed….
They don’t come around often, but when they do they enjoy….as you can see.
He he! They are gorgeous!
I’ve been looking for a recipe for squirrel stew. We have to constantly come up with new methods of keeping them out of the bird feeders. So far gutter material wrapped around the pole of the feeder and sealed off at the top does the most good. Admittedly, though, they are cute when they play.
I know. I’m surprised that the squirrels don’t come around more often because the bird food is so easy to get to. Evidently they have better fare elsewhere. But, as you can see, when they do pay a visit, they feast! Eventually I want to get a bird feeder with a ballast to keep critters away from the birds. Thanks for stopping by, Nancy. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
they are sooooooo cute
I know they can be a nuisance, but I love the critters! Glad you enjoyed the photos.
love the one of him flat on his belly, resting. They are an entertaining creature to watch for sure. We don’t see them often on the property as our cat disperses of them! We mostly have the small red ones here.
Yes, I do enjoy watching the squirrels. We don’t have as many here as we did at the apartment, but they are still fun to watch when they come around.
